Livermore’s premiere destination event sees unprecedented growth in second year

March 28, 2015 (Livermore, Calif.) – RaceForce LLC, a leading endurance and athletic event production company based in Los Angeles, Calif., announced that over 3,500 runners helped sell out the Livermore Half Marathon on Saturday. Livermore’s premiere destination event experienced unprecedented growth in its second year.
“We are overwhelmingly excited about the success of the Livermore Half Marathon,” said Ryan Dawkins, Race Director of the Livermore Half Marathon.
“Our team has worked hard over the last year to bring in more sponsors and make sure that attendees get the world-class experience they have come to expect at our events. The turnout for today’s race was incredible and we would like to congratulate all of the finishers,” added Dawkins.
The race start, finish and RunLiv Wine and Music Festival took place in historic Downtown Livermore. The race route passed through areas of the Livermore Valley and Wine Region.
The top male finisher was Tom Rosencrantz, 49, of Mill Valley, Calif., with an official race time of 1:18:51.
“I wasn’t expecting the rolling hills, but enjoyed them greatly,” said Rosencrantz.
“I’ll run better in Boston as a result of racing the Livermore Half today,” Rosencrantz added.
The top female finisher was Sabina Piras, 25, of San Diego, Calif., with an official race time of 1:22:29.
“Livermore is my old stomping ground, so the race was like running in my own back yard,” said Piras.
At the finish line, race participants received cutting-edge finisher medals. Racers also received a commemorative wine glass and official finisher’s shirt. Weekend highlights included the RunLiv Expo and RunLiv Wine and Music Festival featuring wine from local wineries, beer from Eight Bridges Brewing Company, and the best food and music Livermore has to offer.
“The RunLiv Expo and Wine and Music Festival was a huge success. We are thankful to have so many returning and new sponsors including Vega Sport, Muscle Milk and 24 Hour Fitness and have already started planning for the 2016 event,” said Dawkins.
